The Scandinavian innovation agency Above has recruited Martin Johnson in a newly created role as Digital Director. Martin has over 20 years of experience building teams & driving award-winning creative innovation with international clients like Lego, Google & Moog.

Digital Director Martin Johnson says: “We are now in a time where the sort of problems we are looking to solve are of a new kind, special & will make a positive impact in the world. We are shaping sustainable, holistic & creative experiences that connect physical products or environments to digital worlds. This can’t be done solely inside of a screen-based environment and the coming years will be about applying what I’ve learned in my digital past to products, services & everything in between. This is a time for pioneers & connecting digital creativity, product design, and emerging tech to help clients explore the way we can live in the future. There are few companies on the planet equipped to unlock what’s possible for clients in this space & I’m delighted to be joining Above at this time.”

Above is a new type of agency, equipped to solve strategic and business-critical challenges in an era characterized by digitalization and a growing focus on sustainability. Growth has been rapid, and Above is now one of Europe’s largest independent creative agencies. Its client list ranges from global giants such as Google, Facebook, and Dell, to Swedish companies such as iZettle, IKEA and Scania. Strengthening digital capability is part of the agency’s strategy for the next phase of development as it continues to bring down the barriers between different design & technology disciplines for its clients.

“I am thrilled to welcome Martin to the team. His perspective will unlock new possibilities for our clients as we bring our mission to the boldest, bravest product teams that want to remove the seams between digital & physical. His proven, award-winning leadership will help us build passionate teams that want to drive meaningful, lasting & impactful change in the world” says Claes Lundin, CEO of Above.
